Jordaens uses a refined technique, not to show us the reality that everyone watches, but to approach his own reality, understood in sober color ranges, poetically wrapped in his still lifes and flowers.
His subjects are real, his compositions are formed by natural elements, but encourage a certain feeling in his paintings, of something "unreal"; something like a poetic message. He touches humble things and fills them with a different pictorial "fragrance", distant from reality. His objects are taken from living nature (flowers, fruits, nests, trees or rocks), but inflamed by a poetic essence. He wraps them in warm colors and makes them float in an environment of subdued and warm light.
